WINNERS HALL OF FAME
Reggie Watts 2006
Reggie Watts first hit the stand-up comedy scene with his unique style of improvisation in 2004. His distinctive style, which uses looped vocals created live on stage, is part of an experience that keeps the audience constantly disoriented in the most entertaining way. The improvised music Watts creates on stage infuses the influence of hip-hop, 80's alternative pop, nu-metal, trip-hop and classic opera.
Based in Seattle, the subject matter of Watts' sets range from ancient history, magic, technology, dragons, spirit elves, theology and popular culture. The 2006 Andy Kaufman Award winner has also produced broadband original series for ComedyCentral.com, IFC.com and SuperDeluxe.com.
Born in Germany and raised in Great Falls, Montana, Watts attended the Art School of Seattle at the age of 18. He later went on to study jazz at Cornish College of the Arts.
Currently, Watts has sold out venues across the globe, including a smash hit run at Joe's Pub in New York City and 2009 Sydney Festival. He's also performed at SXSW, The Montreal Comedy Festival, the TBA Comedy Festival, Bonnaroo and the Luminous Festival curated by musician, Brian Eno.
Besides winning the 2006 Andy Kaufman Award, Watts has also won the 2005 Malcolm Hardee “Oy Oy” Award, 2006 Seattle Mayor's Arts Award and 2009 ECNY Award for Best Musical Comedy Act.
